Modular Latex Mattresses Tailored to Fit

Modular construction is what separates these mattresses from most of what you'll find elsewhere. Every configuration in this range is built around the idea that your comfort layer should be something you choose, not something fixed at the factory. We've been building latex mattresses this way in Delta, BC since 1985, and the layer system has only gotten more refined since then.

We use three types of latex across the range: GOLS-certified organic Dunlop, natural Talalay, and Original Talalay. Each has a distinct feel and density, and different configurations combine them in different ways to suit different sleeping styles.

The range breaks into four configurations. The 6-inch is a single slab of organic Dunlop latex, available in Firm or Extra-Firm, and the most affordable mattress we make. The 8-inch uses a multi-layer core built to a specific firmness from the ground up. The 10-inch adds a dedicated transition layer between the base and comfort layer for a more graduated feel. The DIY mattress pairs the 6-inch core with your choice of topper, giving you the most control over the final result.

Layer exchanges are included on most configurations, so if the firmness isn't right after sleeping on it, we can swap the comfort layer within 180 days.

What is the difference between the 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, and DIY mattresses?

The 6-inch is a single slab of organic Dunlop latex, available in Firm or Extra-Firm. It's our most affordable option and works well for back sleepers, stomach sleepers, kids, and bunk beds. The 8-inch is a multi-layer core built to a specific firmness from the ground up, available in Soft, Medium, and Firm. The 10-inch adds a dedicated transition layer between the base and comfort layer for a more graduated feel, and is available in Dunlop, Talalay, or combined configurations. The DIY mattress pairs the 6-inch Dunlop core with your choice of topper, giving you the most control over the final feel. Layer exchanges are included on all models except the 6-inch.

Are these mattresses suitable for side sleepers?

The 6-inch mattress is best for back and stomach sleepers. It's a firm surface with no comfort layer, so it doesn't offer the pressure relief most side sleepers need. The 8-inch and 10-inch mattresses with Medium or Soft comfort layers are a better fit for side and combination sleepers. The 10-inch with a Soft comfort layer and transition layer is the most pressure-relieving option in the range. What frames are compatible with these mattresses?

It's very important for the mattress to be well supported. We recommend slat spacing no wider than 2.5" inches for 100% latex mattresses and 3" for Hybrid Latex Mattresses. As a rule of thumb, you want to see more support than air. Almost all foundations can be combined with a coir bunkie board placed on top, which will give the mattress the firm, even surface it needs. The 8-inch, 10-inch, and DIY mattresses are not recommended for bunk beds due to their overall thickness. Mattress foundations are rarely made to withstand and support latex.

Does latex have an odour?

Yes, latex has a natural odour. It's not bothersome to most people as it's not a chemical smell, but those with smell sensitives are more likely to notice something. We can air our the components at our factory upon requests. We recommend 2-3 weeks on these cases. Additionally, shredded latex pillows have the strongest odour of all latex products.
